                                                                 Detailed report on Sewajyoti's activities (Hindi)

Sewajyoti, along with RR Morarka Charitable Trust and Narbada Devi Morarka Charitable Trust, is organising various kinds of charity and human welfare activities on a regular basis. These activities are generally organised in different areas of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. These activities and events fall under the following categories:

Sewa Jyoti has been conducting various activities in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district for the past many years. During the last year, the organisation conducted many health camps, vocational training camps and ran schemes to benefit the local people. It also organised various festivals, contests and fairs to promote local craft and arts and to encourage youth for taking part in purposeful activities. Some of the activities undertaken by Sewa Jyoti during 2008 are: 

Shekhawati handicraft and tourism fair: 

The fair was organised from 15th to 24th January, 2008 to promote self-employment and tourism industry in the area. During the ten day period, many contests were organised to promote traditional sports and awards were presented to the winners. 

An exhibition of Items produced by various self-help groups also took place and drew great response from among the local people. 

Polio correction Camp: 

Sewa Jyoti conducted a Polio correction camp in close cooperation with the department of social justice, Rajasthan government. Seventy three polio patients were operated upon by senior surgeons during the three day camp.

International Women’s Day:

On the occasion of Women’s Day, Sewa Jyoti felicitated selected women who have made significant contribution to the society in different ways. 

Four hundred women trained under Sewa Jyoti's vocational programmes and 30 women activists were also awarded with certificates. 

The function was attended by more than 1500 ladies coming from 40 villages.

Sh. Radheshyam Morarka Jayanti Ceremony: 

A function was organised on 26th March on the occasion of our fouder's Late Sh. Radheshyam Ji Morarka's birth anniversary. It was presided over by former Governor Sh. Navrang Tibrewal while Agarwal community leader Mr. Vimlesh Agarwal was the chief guest. Mr. Tibrewal released a book titled 'Prerna' (Inspiration) based on Late Sh. Radhesyham Ji Morarka's life and work. During the function, veteran social worker Sh. Ram Swarup Morarka and renowned Ayurvedacharya Sh. Durga Prasad Diwakar was felicitated by Sewa Jyoti. 

Vocational training programme for Women: 

The organisation selected 10 villages to run its vocational training programme for women with a target of training 400 women in activities such as sewing. The target was achieved by September 2008. Villages benefiting from this scheme were- Tonk Chhilri, Baswa, Khirod, Bhojnagar, Bay, Navaladi, Balavantpura, Chelasi, Pabana and Parasrampura.

Free Health check ups: 

Sewa Jyoti conducted free health check up camps at different levels. In the first phase, 31 villages of Nawalgarh Panchayat Samiti were selected for conducting such camps. Doctors from Sh. Radheshyam Morarka Medical Institute visited these villages and provided free consultation and medicine to the villagers. A total of 4,218 patients were benefited from these camps. 

In the second phase of health camps, a large district level health check up and free medicine distribution camp was organised in Shri Radheshyam R Morarka government college complex in Jhunjhunu. Former Speaker of Rajasthan assembly, Mrs. Sumitra Singh was the chief guest of the function. Senior doctors from Radheshyam Morarka Medical Institute, Nawalgarh and Mahavir Cancer Hospital Jaipur provided free consultation to the patients attending the programme. 

In another phase, such health camps were organised at the block level. A total of 6,743 patients got benefited by the services provided by Sewa Jyoti's docters and experts during this period.

Mobile Surgical Unit Project: 

Sewa Jyoti has launched this project with active cooperation from the Health Mission of Rajasthan government. Two doctors, two nursing staff, two helpers, two drivers and a mobile ambulance vehicle has been put to service under this project. 

The vehicle is used for providing prompt medical service to patients in the area. This has immensely benefited people in emergency cases and has reduced time taken in providing proper medical care to them.

- Pre-selection camp for people interested in Prime Minister Employment Scheme
- Scholarships to 5 students coming from economically weaker families. 
- Vocational training for making leather items

- Mid-day meal schemes for children
- Medical camps for the poor and needy
- Eye camps
- Family planning camps
- Camps for the physically handicapped
- Rehabilitation centres for the physically handicaped
- Tree planting campaigns
- Sports events for villagefolks
- Blood donation camps
- Distribution of quilts, blankets and cloths during winters
- Water huts during summers
- Self employment programmes for unemployed youth 
- Distribution of uniforms to school children
- Help to Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (Education for all campaign)
- Donations for public libraries
- Polio operation camps
- Health checkup camps
- Vaccination camps etc.

Rehabilitation centre: Sewa Jyoti has opened a rehabilitation centre at Nawalgarh  with the cooperation of Pt. Deen Dayal Sewa Sansthan, New Delhi to provide required assistance to physically challenged people. 

Kitchen Sheds: Sewajyoti has built ten kitchen sheds under the Mid day meal scheme of Rajasthan government where mid-day meal is cooked for students. These sheds have been built in 10 schools of Jhunjhunu district. 

Sharda Peeth Library: Sewa Jyoti has donated Rs. 12 Lakh for construction of Sh. Seth Radheshytam Morarka memorial 'Sharda Peeth Library' to help preserve  invaluable transcripts, scriptures and documents presently collected in Dwarka (Gujarat). Sewajyoti was approached to help in this noble cause and the organisation decided to do everything it can, to preserve our religious and cultural heritage.

Sarva Siksha Abhiyan: Sewa Jyoti has been taking active interest in the 'Education for all' (Sarva Siksha abhiyan) campaign launched by the Government of India. The organisation has distributed school uniforms to more than 5000 economically poor students.

Rehabilitation camp for the handicaped : The organisation has been organising handicapped camps on a regular basis in Shekhawati region of Rajasthan and Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh. A few months back, we organised a grand camp in Nawalgarh (Jhunjhunu) where hundreds of physically handicapped persons got assistance of different kind. Artificial limbs, tricycles, wheel chairs, calipers and many more such things were provided to the needy. The local administration also extended its full support to the event. People participate in large number in events organised by Sewajyoti. Even the sports events conducted by the organisation witnessed huge crowds gathered to enjoy the rural games and cheer their respective favourites. Sewajyoti has not limited itself to any one sort of activity but rather playing a meaningful role as a partner of the people.
