On one hand, Radheshyam Morarka Medical Institute provides its services at the hospital campus, on the other hand it is reaching out to people living in the nearby villages through its medical vans, ambulances and health camps. The medical camps have benefitted lakhs of people in different villages and cities of the Jhunjhunu district. Nawalgarh, Jhunjhunu, Khetri, Udaipurwati and many other towns have witnessed people coming in large numbers to attend medical camps in which senior and experienced doctors and surgeons from RMMI as well as other prestigious medical institutions participate.
Camps organized by Sewajyoti and RMMI are mainly of three categories. Consultation camps where large number of people are checked for various diseases. Camps to detect and diagnose cancer, women’s diseases, children’s diseases, ENT problems etc. fall in this category. Medicines are also made available to such patients on the location itself.
Another category of camps are surgical camps wherein people are operated upon for problems such as cataract. Sewajyoti also conducts family welfare camps to promote the cause of ‘chhota pariwar, sukhi pariwar.’ Gifts are also given to people who come for surgeries. A large number of people, both men and women, attend such camps.
Sewajyoti also conducts blood donation camps on a regular basis to encourage people to donate blood. Similarly, disabled receive medical consultation, and aids such as calipers, artificial limbs, tricycles, hearing aids etc. Pulse Polio camps are also a regular feature of Sewajyoti’s programmes during which children are given polio drops.
Sewajyoti had started conducting such camps in 2004 when a large free camp for the disabled was organized in Nawalgarh. The district administration provided wholehearted support to the programme and its unprecedented success led to organization of many other camps, dealing with different kind of health problems. They are now an integral part of our strategy to provide health facility to the people living in far-flung areas. Whenever necessary, Sewajyoti has taken help from similar organizations such as Bhagvan Mahavir Cancer Hospital, Jaipur and Dr. R M Sahay Memorial Eye Hospital,
Jaipur.
Sekhawati is also known for popular festivals such as the Lohargal
Mela, Salasar Mela, Khatu Shyam Mela, Bawalia Baba Mela and Baba Ramdev
Mela. Devotees gather in large numbers to attend these festivals.
Sewajyoti conducts health consultation camps there to attend people
needing medical attention.
