Sewajyoti: The flame of service

Literal meaning of Sewajyoti (Sanskrit) is a 'flame of service.' We wish our organisation to work exactly as a flame of service spreading light of hope and happiness among those who are deprived of basic requirements such as food, education and medical aid. Our motto is 'Par hit saris dharam nahin bhai' which means there is no work is better then halping others.

Sewajyoti is founded by Sh. G.R. Morarka, a noted industrialist; Chairman and Managing Director of Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Limited; and son of former parliamentarian Late Sh. R.R. Morarka. Mr. Morarka is also a recipient of Rajasthan government's prestigious 'Bhamashah Award.'  He eagerly wants to contribute in social development in a meaningful and effective way, and has expressed his commitment to work in the fields of education, health, employment generation, agriculture and industrial development.

Contribution to the society

Sewajyoti is an umbrella organisation encompassing two other organisations working for the benefit of the poor and needy, namely R.R. Morarka Charitable Trust and Narbada Devi Morarka Charitable Trust. The two trusts have contributed to the development and welfare of the people of Rajasthan's Sekhawati region and have also conducted extensive social work in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor district.

Sh. Gautam Morarka believes that we have to ensure speedy development of small towns and villages if we want to push India towards becoming a truly developed country. In this regard, he cites the examples of Japan and Singapore where collective will of people and their hard work supported by the government and the private sector brought lasting prosperity. Mr. Morarka says, government, private sector and local people should come together to ensure an all-round development of their area.
